US asks China to explain why it needs aircraft carrier

Commentary, News // Aug 10 2011

WASHINGTON — The United States said Wednesday it would like China to explain why it needs an aircraft carrier amid broader US concerns about Beijing’s lack of transparency over its military aims.

“We would welcome any kind of explanation that China would like to give for needing this kind of equipment,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters when asked whether the carrier would raise regional tensions.

“This is part of our larger concern that China is not as transparent as other countries. It’s not as transparent as the United States about its military acquisitions, about its military budget,” she said.

“And we’d like to have the kind of open, transparent relationship in military-to-military affairs,” Nuland said.

“In our military-to-military relations with many countries around the world, we have the kind of bilateral dialogue where we can get quite specific about the equipment that we have and its intended purposes and its intended movements,” she said.

But China and the United States are “not at that level of transparency” to which the two nations aspire, Nuland added.

We need a glass prison in Washington DC so the horrors brought on by the 535+ gov leaders is remembered forever. Kinda like a memorial to these bastards. NOTHING will change until they are dealt with in a harsh but legal procedure. They are complicit in so many things that it is beyond imagination for many folks which would include 9-11.

Oh!! And one more thing. Since we let China make most of the electronic components for our CLASSIFIED hi-tech critical electronic hardware dedicated to killing people, as well as most of our bullets, are they going to let American contractors construct similar hardware for their use?

Why would anyone need an aircraft carrier?
They need it to carry aircrafts of course. However, the dysfunctional mind is indirectly saying something rather than asking. That something might be: Are you going to defend yourself when we eventually attack you and are you going to be able to actually prevent us and our friends from taking over the entire world?

Dateline Washington: China replies to U.S. enquiries about need for aircraft carrier.
We want them for the same reason that you feel the need to have thirteen of them, to protect our vital national interests. Don’t think of them as offensive weapons systems able to project power. They are simply there for pacification, translation error, correct text is for peaceful uses. We have no need of aircraft carriers for threats. We already demonstrated our ability with a submarine launched missile off the California coast several months ago. Our submarines have operated and surfaced inside the safety perimeter established around your aircraft carriers. That means we can deny access to ocean areas of our choosing. You have nothing to fear from China, as long as you have no cause to threaten China we will get along fine. Now, go back to watching dancing with the stars. And keep the interest payments coming on the debt you owe us.

And we spent the following 50 yrs or so trying to make sure no one else uses or even develops them. Walk softly and carry a big stick turned into stomp around cussin and screamin hitting everyone til your stick breaks. Then ask congress to give you money for more sticks. When you’astute baddest kid on the playground, the last thing you want is to find out that the other kids have big sticks too. It’ll be Interesting to see how this one plays out.

I think you are all reading this article wrong….I get it that China is asking the US for one of OUR carriers…..If I am wrong in what I get from the article….I agree that eac h country has their own right to arm themselves as they please other than nuclear armament, as global treaties dictate.
If I am reading this right, why should we continue to arm our enemies as we have done in the past. We need to take a step back and protect ourselves, arm our borders by bringing our troops home and closing our global bases. We can get anywhere in the world at a moments notice so why do we have to keep spending the trillions of dollars foolishly?
We fulfilled our ficticiuos qouta by silencing Suddam Hussein and Bin Laden, so lets get out of these foreign countries and strengthen ourselves economically as well as physically.

      Jersey Biker:

You have read this article entirely wrong. China is not asking the U.S. for one of our aircraft carriers, China just finished building one. This is not news, it just has been kept from the myopic American public by the controlled media. China has been building this carrier and others for a couple years. This is the first of many to come out of the Chinese ship yards. Years ago, China bought a decommissioned Soviet carrier to use as a platform to conduct carrier landings for their new naval aviators, you don’t think China would build a carrier without first having trained naval aviators. There were even aerial photos of Chinese aircraft practicing touch-n-go landings from this old Soviet carrier sitting in a Chinese port. There even was some main stream media, self proclaimed defense “expert”, who said the Chinese only bought the old Soviet carrier for a floating campus and the Chinese have no plans to expand into naval aviation. Yeah right, sure it was a campus, a campus to train naval aviators.

Most Americans think we still have some massive military that is all powerful and could not be beat. Well I have news for you, since Clinton, our military has become smaller and smaller. Clinton made an agreement with Russia/Soviet Lite to downsize our military forces. Well of course Clinton et al., jumped right on it and parked half of our Boomers/ICBM launching subs in port where the Soviets could target them with one warhead, we have cut back on the number of ships and subs in the Navy and the cut back on the number of aircraft squadrons in our air force. All the while, the new Russia under Putin has been expanding and developing new weapons in their military and nuclear forces.

Prior to the alleged fall of the Soviet Union, the Soviets had more nuclear warheads than the U.S.. After the alleged fall of the Soviet Union, both the U.S. and Soviets made agreements to limit their nuclear arsenal.
The U.S. has basically been unilaterally disarming, while Russia/Soviet lite has cut the fat, regrouped and is now coming back stronger. Over the last 15 years, Russia is developing new warheads and commissioning new ballistic missiles. The Russians have developed such technology as a torpedo with a submerged speed of 200-400 mph; this is just the tip of iceberg. Russia and China are actually using our own technology against us. Clinton essentially gave the Chinese the technology to launch ICBMs and put a warhead in your childs playground. Back when everyone was watching the red herring of the Monica Lewenski(sp) show, the real news was how Clinton had allowed the Chinese to have the missile guidance technology. It is not just Clinton, but the Bushes and the rest of the crowd inside the Beltway.

You see, Americans will not realize just how stupid they are and how they have been bamboozled when an actual Red Dawn occurs, of course, this will all be accomplished with the cooperation of our elected officials who are card carrying members of the global elite.

The Red Dawn scenario will start five to 10 years down the road with some staged international incident, at this time China, Russia and similarly aligned nations will be more than a match for the downsized, shell of itself U.S. military. Of course, the major player in D.C. will be in on the sting operation to end the “evil U.S. domination of the world”. The senior elected officials will be in their safe havens located in South America, Northern Europe and the South Seas. After both the Soviets and Chinese conduct limited nuclear first strikes upon selected targets in the U.S., without ever attempting to launch a retaliatory strike and never giving our missile forces the launch authorization codes, our co-opted leaders will feign anguish and claim to have no other choice, but to capitulate and accept terms of unconditional surrender. This will all be accomplished according to a script co-authored by our “trusted” leaders. This scenario will accomplish several objectives simultaneously, de-population for one, but most importantly, it will allow for a one-world totalitarian, autocratic government. Chi-com troops with the assistance of selected former U.S. military members(i.e. Blackwater types) will move in and occupy the territory formerly known as the United States. Then the remaining American populace will be surveyed for usefulness for the “global good”. Marked for cooperation, re-education or extermination.

USA appears to have mind control technology (reverse EEGs based on Satellite and Cell phone Tech), and who knows Weather Machines already. Also the large Hadron Collider which claims to be able to create black holes and hurl ‘needles’ protons (probably DU eventually) across the Atlantic.

Neurotech (Mind Control – those riots in th UK recently, neurotech or mass mind zeitgeist?)

We need it to carry our newest carrier-borne Gundam-inspired stealth mobile suits.. those new equipment we developed can travel in space, drop nuclear armaments at a target of our choosing without rattling the alarms of hostile nations.. plus they do not need fossil fuel to fly.. we actually developed an energy system that would replace fossil fuel.. we need it for our manned mission to one of Saturn’s moons, which we would undertake next month.. The majority of these comments are reprehensible. Piss on the lot of you. The United States monitors and has the ability to control the backbone of the world wide web. The United States spends billions of dollars on its military because in the end the United States wants to remain the United States. The billions on the books are what we show in order to maintain slight transparency. It is true we are transparent… for the most part. Where do you think billions upon billions upon billions of dollars actually go? Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Boston Dynamics, DARPA, etc… I could expand that list to include hundreds more. The majority of you morons are sadly misinformed. The United States is still the greatest country in the world. If you are not lazy and have a reasonable level of intelligence you will prosper here. If you are mentally challenged, have substance abuse issues, suffer from psychosis, or feel a sense of entitlement you will suffer. If you match any of the latter criteria you will also complain about having to visit the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame instead of taking the trip to Cancun you had planned because you were laid off from The Home Depot. You will trash politicians and support ludicrous conspiracy theories because you watched AlienScientist one too many times on Youtube. Your name is John… You don’t deserve to carry my name John. Indeed, Sparta: a very apt comparison. A city state where a majority of enslaved peasants (helots) were exploited by brutal “Spartans”, numbering some 30.000 at best. The first comparison that would spring to mind would be Israel, or South Africa during the apartheid regime. But now that you mention it, the US also fits the comparison. By the way, other than perceived military prowess, brawn and a thoroughly homosexual army, Sparta has not produced anything at all: no literature, no philosophy, no science, nothing. For such items, they had to go to Athens, Corinth, Magna Graecia, Asia Minor and elsewhere.

US asks China to explain why it wants carrier.

Does USA expect China to reply to such a question? How rude and ingenuous can a country that waged more wars than most of the world put together get? It’s like asking the neighbours why they were at the adult vid or adulty toy store.

China is a sovereign nation, and if USA believes in the 2nd Amendment, then any FOREIGN SOVEREIGN nations’ military acquisitions and technology advancements are none of USA’s business.

Use some common sense policy makers, you insult yourself and the nation you ask such unnecessary questions, especially after pulling a ‘South China Sea spat’ via Phillipines and Vietnam on China. How about China pull a Cuba and Mexico on USA? No fun right? But tit for tat.

Heres an answer China might give. Like nukes to match nukes, an aircraft carrier to match aircraft carriers is a *deterrent*. The onus and fault lies with the ones that threw the first punch by building an aircraft carrier in the first place – blame Pearl harbour (Hawaii btw is an American COLONY seeking independence after the King Kamehameha – yes with the help of the Japanese, ‘Dragonball’ bound up that Loa in an idiotic cartoon, hope Hawaii frees itself with the awareness of the people . . . ) but also blame not dismantling existing carriers and even upgrading and designing and building more. Also try @Master C’s comments on Iran’s 2nd Amendment rights below :

    Try the below :

Double standards being shown here USA ! So long as they do not attack with nuke or aircraft carrier, DON’T ASK, but do tell.

Lol JR is right 75% of you guys probably don’t know jack about the military. I bet without googling probably you guys can’t tell me tbe difference between Wasp class carriers and Nimitz. Let alone tell me the amount of fighters they can carry and what missions they are best for. Keep in mine the U.S has two large oceans on its left and right, hint- the one that starts with an a and the one that begins with a p. If you can understand that then maybe you can understand how carriers operate. Then take this to another level what would an aircraft carrier be used for if you have a large country with a big army, you must need a carrier for offense so why do you need it now and why are you desperate to used an older carrier. On top of that would you need eacorts for the job and build a carrier fleet which then would travel the seas. So just asking why do you need an aircraft carrier. One more thing china has been developing newer anti ship missiles.lately also and testing a lot more with carrier aircraft which can do anti ship attacks etc. I believe China should huild a carrier nothings wrong wih that and theu do need it if they want to be a super power. But we as the U.S have the largest naval fleet and we have carriers for different task the more the better we are a defensive country that believe a good defense is a good offense. We have enough power to be on standy by any given day offensively and defensively China is more of defensive country as well as Russia those two countries making carriers is rare since they don’t really need them.
