A group known as the Satanic Temple has proposed placing a 7-foot-tall statue of Satan at the Oklahoma State Capital. This is their response to the Ten Commandments statue placed on the capital in 2012.
“The monument has been designed to reflect the views of Satanists in Oklahoma City and beyond,” Lucien Greaves said in a statement.
According to CBS News “The New York-based Satanic Temple formally submitted its application to a panel that oversees the Capitol grounds, including an artist’s rendering that depicts Satan as Baphomet, a goat-headed figure with horns, wings and a long beard that’s often used as a symbol of the occult. In the rendering, Satan is sitting in a pentagram-adorned throne with smiling children next to him.”
According to The Vigilant Citizen, “Baphomet is an enigmatic, goat-headed figure found in several instance in the history of occultism. From the Knights Templar of the Middle-Ages and the Freemasons of the 19th century to modern currents of occultism, Baphomet never fails to create controversy.”
Baphomet has been showing up both overtly and subliminally all through out pop culture these days.
The statue most likely will be blocked. However, the truth is there are several covert Satanist in politics that secretly would love to have this statue on the capital. After all, the nations Pentagon is essentially paying homage to Baphomet. Just take a look at The Church of Satan’s “Sigil of Baphomet”.
